Ex-Meta AI Lead Founds Ndoc, an AI Office Tool Aiming at Microsoft Office
Rohit Patel, who spent eight years leading AI research at Meta and headed its Superintelligence Labs, has left the company. He is one of several senior figures to depart recently.
Patel has founded a company called Ndoc, building an AI-native office tool that aims to replace Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. It brings scattered tools like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint into one space, so people stop switching between apps and copying content around.
Ndoc has three modules in one interface. Stage shows slides and dashboards, Narrative presents analysis, charts, and data explanations, and Model stores datasets and Python scripts. Users can upload a dataset and get results with written explanations. Documents export as .ndoc.html files that open in any browser, and Patel plans to open-source the format.
