Google Gemini hits 900 million monthly users, AI Overviews reaches 2.5 billion

Alphabet revealed in its June investor presentation that the Gemini app now has over 900 million monthly active users, doubling in just one year, making it one of Google's fastest-growing products.

Gemini now powers 13 Google products with over 1 billion users each, including Search, Gmail, Android, Chrome, and YouTube, which each have over 3 billion users. Google's AI Overviews feature in Search has reached 2.5 billion monthly active users, the company says it's the most widely used AI product globally.

Since launching Gemini 3, Google has cut core AI response costs by over 30% through hardware and engineering breakthroughs. Google plans to release the Gemini 3.5 Pro model this month, following the Gemini 3.5 Flash announced at I/O 2026, which outperforms Gemini 3.1 Pro in many benchmarks.
