Honor's 'Lightning' Robots Sweep Top Three in Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon, Developed in Just Half a Year and Broke Human Record
The 2026 Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon concluded in Beijing E-town. Honor's 'Lightning' robots took the top three positions with net times of 50:26, 50:56, and 53:01, all breaking the human half-marathon world record of 56:42.
An Honor R&D engineer revealed after the race that these participating robots were developed in just six months, undergoing numerous prototype iterations. The top three robots had no differences in structure or algorithms, only adjusting their race strategies.
Notably, autonomous navigation and remote-controlled robots competed together, with their results weighted by 1.0 and 1.2 respectively. Thus, the remote-controlled 'Lightning' crossed the finish line first but ended up behind the autonomous navigation group in final rankings.
