IDC Predicts: Asia-Pacific AI Spending to Hit $370B by 2029, 5x 2024 Levels
IDC recently stated that AI spending in the Asia-Pacific region will reach $370 billion by 2029, more than five times the 2024 level of $73 billion, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 38.4%.
Among this, generative AI will account for 47.4% of total spending (about $175 billion), with a CAGR of 68.2%. By application scenario, AI infrastructure provision is the largest single category, accounting for approximately 39%.
IDC believes the Asia-Pacific AI market has shifted from infrastructure building to a new phase defined by platform integration and operational depth. Organizations are moving from isolated AI use cases to integrated, enterprise-level AI ecosystems, expanding both the depth and breadth of AI adoption in the region.
