iQIYI CEO Gong Yu: AI Will Revitalize Long Video Industry, Pure AI Hit Long Films May Appear This Summer

Gong Yu, founder and CEO of iQIYI, recently stated that the emergence of AI will bring revitalization opportunities to the long video content industry. Currently, long video production costs are high, and most projects are in a loss state; AI technology is expected to change this situation.

Gong Yu mentioned that the problem of high cost of top actors in high-quality long dramas will be changed by AI. iQIYI has already negotiated with first-line actors on the cooperation of their portrait rights in AI films and TV dramas. He optimistically estimates that pure AI-generated hit long films will appear as early as this summer and no later than this autumn and winter. The characters and items in these works are either digitally virtual or migrated from real actors' AI images.
