iQIYI's AI Artist Library Plan Sparks Controversy: Some Artists Deny Authorization, Platform Says Cooperation Requires Separate Negotiations
AI technology is increasingly used in the film and television industry, but disputes over artists' AI authorization have emerged. Recently, iQIYI announced its AI Artist Library Plan, stating that more than 100 artists have joined. However, artists like Zhang Ruoyun and Wang Churan denied signing any AI-related authorization through their personal or studio accounts.
In response, iQIYI clarified that an artist's entry into the AI Artist Library only indicates their willingness to engage in AI film and television projects. Participation in specific projects or roles requires separate negotiations and authorization, which is the same as the process for traditional live-action projects.
