JD and Meituan Restrict External AI Tools, Require Approval or Shift to In-House Models
Recently, JD and Meituan have successively restricted the use of external AI tools. JD started blocking access to external AI websites (including Doubao, Qwen, etc.) at the end of March; employees need to use the company's self-developed JoyAI or apply for external AI permissions.
Meituan adjusted its large model strategy: it no longer recommends using Alibaba Cloud's Qwen model for business. If needed, users must submit reasons to x3-level bosses for approval. Currently, Doubao and others do not require approval, and the company recommends its self-developed LongCat model.
JD's JoyAI covers multiple size models and supports multi-modal interactions; Meituan's LongCat is the recommended in-house model. This move by both companies may aim to enhance data security and integrate internal tools.
