In the earnings call, Meituan CEO Wang Xing said that since early 2023, Meituan's investment scale in AI capital expenditure and talent (excluding cloud computing companies) is probably the largest among domestic enterprises, and it has been deployed for more than three years. He said the AI "super entry" needs to accurately understand needs and execute efficiently, which is far more complex than chatbots.

Local life scenarios are complex, with massive merchant information scattered and not fully online, and also need to manage fulfillment and delivery, which is a capability general AI lacks. Wang Xing gave an example: finding a Sichuan restaurant between two places requires AI to master map, POI and real-time supply info. Meituan's "Xiao Tuan" can extract valuable online reviews and infer personalized needs. It will deepen integration, strengthen AI search and execution capabilities, aiming to become an important AI entry point in local life services.
