Meta builds data centers in tents to speed up and cut costs
To keep up with the AI data center boom, Meta is putting its data centers in tents. Reports say Meta has set up 6 big tents in New Albany, Ohio, each about 11600 square meters, to cut building time in half. This idea borrows from Tesla and xAI, and uses modular gas turbines for power. Meta plans to spend up to $145 billion on data centers and other costs, but Wall Street isn't happy—its stock is down 5% this year. Using tents is Meta's way to save money.
