NVIDIA unveils Vera CPU for AI agents, 1.8x faster than x86
At Computex 2026 in Taipei, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced the Vera processor, a CPU built for AI agents. It is 1.8x faster than x86 chips and can handle various workloads across industries. Vera is now in full production.
Based on the success of Grace CPU (with nearly 2.5 million units shipped), Vera will be used by clients like the New York Stock Exchange, Anthropic, OpenAI, SpaceX AI, ByteDance, and Oracle Cloud. Dell, HPE, and Lenovo are also integrating it into their AI systems.
Vera has 88 Olympus cores and LPDDR5X memory with 1.2TB/s bandwidth. Through NVLink-C2C, it serves as the host CPU in the Vera Rubin platform, offering up to 1.8TB/s coherent bandwidth. Systems will be available from partners starting this fall.
