OpenAI plans big upgrade for ChatGPT to make it a super app

According to the Financial Times, OpenAI is planning its biggest upgrade to ChatGPT yet, aiming to turn it into a super app with new coding tools and AI agent features to boost revenue. This is part of a company restructuring, with a focus on the Codex tool, which will roll out over the coming weeks, first on web and mobile. To increase usage, OpenAI will also redesign ChatGPT's interface with new prompts to guide users to coding tools, image generation, and third-party services like Canva and Booking.com. ChatGPT now has over 900 million weekly active users and 50 million paid subscribers, with 2 million business clients contributing about 40% of revenue, expected to reach 50% by year-end.
