Unitree Tech CEO Wang Xingxing: Embodied AI's 'ChatGPT Moment' May Come in 2-3 Years
Wang Xingxing, founder and CEO of Unitree Tech, recently delivered a speech titled 'When Robots Go Viral' at the 2026 China Network Media Forum, sharing his views on the development of embodied AI.
He defined the 'ChatGPT moment' for embodied AI as when a robot can complete about 80% of tasks via voice commands in around 80% of unfamiliar scenarios.
Wang believes this moment will take about 2-3 years, but a friend returning from Silicon Valley thinks it could be in 18 months. However, he noted that significant technological progress in embodied AI is certain to happen this year or next.
