YouTube rolls out Replace Song tool to creators worldwide

Video creators often get copyright claims when they use licensed music in their videos. This can hurt their content and income, and dealing with these claims takes time and effort.

YouTube is now rolling out its "Replace song" tool in YouTube Studio to creators worldwide. When a creator gets an audio copyright claim, the tool instantly creates four unique royalty-free instrumental tracks to replace the copyrighted audio. Once replaced, the Content ID claim is removed automatically.

To use it, creators open the "Replace song" tool in YouTube Studio and tap the new "Create" button under the Suggested tab. They get four tracks of about three minutes each, which they can loop or adjust in volume on the timeline.

YouTube says the tool aims to cut down the disruption from copyright claims. For now, it only makes instrumental music, not vocals or full songs.
