Zhou Hongyi on AI Tokens: Unlimited Monthly Plans Like Mobile Data Will Never Be Possible
At the Global Unicorn Enterprise Conference, Zhou Hongyi, founder of 360, interpreted the usage logic of AI Tokens in response to the recent popular OpenClaw (nicknamed "Lobster" in Chinese communities). An audience member asked when Tokens could become as accessible as mobile data with unlimited monthly plans.
Zhou Hongyi pointed out that traditional internet traffic infrastructure (like fiber optics) has nearly unlimited capacity, and marginal costs decrease as more users join. However, AI operation relies on computing power consumption and information processing, following the logic of energy conservation—more complex tasks mean higher resource consumption. As a unit of measurement for AI consumption, Tokens cost more with increased usage, so unlimited monthly plans like mobile data will never be possible.
