Claude surges 130.1% month-over-month, shaking up US AI chatbot market

According to a Comscore report, the US desktop consumer AI chatbot market reached 44.4 million unique visitors in March 2026, up over 21% month-over-month. ChatGPT led with 33.86 million visitors but slowed to 18.9% growth.

Claude ranked fourth with 2.66 million unique visitors, surging 130.1% month-over-month, the fastest growth among the top seven. Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot followed with 10.66 million and 5.02 million visitors, growing 29.1% and 44.4% respectively.

Other platforms included X Grok, DeepSeek, and Perplexity with 1.65 million, 0.41 million, and 0.36 million visitors. Claude's rapid rise signals a shift from single-dominance to a more competitive landscape.
