Musk says he won't cut off Anthropic, calls it AI leader
Anthropic has become one of SpaceX's biggest customers. In May, it bought 300 megawatts of computing power from SpaceX, taking over all capacity at xAI's Colossus 1 data center near Memphis, Tennessee. Anthropic agreed to pay $1.25 billion per month until May 2029, bringing in about $40 billion for xAI.
When a user suggested Musk might cut off Anthropic's service, Musk replied, "Not my style," and praised Anthropic as a leader in AI with excellent models like Mythos/Fable. He said he would never cut service even if Anthropic is a competitor.
Musk cited Tesla's 2014 decision to open patents and share charging networks as proof he doesn't suppress rivals. He also said SpaceX doesn't raise prices or use unfair terms when launching satellites for competitors.
