Nvidia's new earnings: Data center revenue tops $75 billion, ACIE clients growing faster than giants
Nvidia released its Q1 FY2027 earnings, breaking down data center revenue into two parts: Hyperscale (just 5-6 big clients) and ACIE (AI Cloud, Industrial, Enterprise). Hyperscale brought in about $38 billion, while ACIE hit $37 billion, growing 31% quarter-over-quarter. AI cloud revenue tripled year-over-year. Jensen Huang said the industrial and enterprise market is worth $50-80 trillion, so ACIE could outgrow hyperscale in the long run.
Edge computing revenue was $6.4 billion, up 29% year-over-year, driven by Blackwell workstations. Nvidia also shared that Anthropic is now a partner, getting extra computing power through AWS, Azure, and CoreWeave. OpenAI's GPT-5.5 was trained on Blackwell. Plus, a deal with Uber could support robotaxi fleets in nearly 30 cities by 2028.
For regular folks, Nvidia's ACIE growth means AI cloud services might get cheaper, and more industrial AI tools are coming. If you work in tech, keep an eye on Blackwell workstations for edge AI opportunities.
