Vitalik Shares Local LLM Configuration, Calls for Building Secure, Open-Source, Privacy-Focused AI Tools
Vitalik Buterin shared details of his autonomous, local, private, and secure LLM configuration on his personal blog, including an NVIDIA 5090 GPU laptop, Qwen3.5:35B model, llama.cpp inference tool, bubblewrap sandbox isolation, NixOS system, custom proxy, and local knowledge base to reduce reliance on remote services.
He stated that proper use of AI can create a more private and secure future. Locally generated code can replace complex external libraries, making software more minimal and self-contained. He also called on more people to build secure, open-source, localized, privacy-focused AI tools to return control to users.
